Project Overview
Following our branding work with Nexus Platform, their engineering team commissioned us to design and build their documentation hub. Developer documentation is a product in itself — bad docs kill adoption. We treated this as a UX and design challenge as much as an engineering one.
The Challenge
Nexus had six products with distinct APIs and workflows. Their existing docs were a mix of Notion pages, PDF guides, and GitHub readmes with no consistent structure or search. Developers were churning at the integration stage because they couldn't find what they needed.
Our Solution
We designed a documentation system with a three-panel layout: global navigation, section tree, and content. Search is powered by a local index for instant results. The system supports versioned API references with automatic diff highlighting. Dark mode is first-class — not an afterthought. Code blocks use syntax highlighting with one-click copy. Every page has an estimated reading time and a feedback widget.
The Outcome
Time-to-first-integration dropped from an average of 4.2 days to 1.8 days after launch. Developer satisfaction scores increased by 31%. Support ticket volume for integration questions dropped 55%.
