Project Overview
Amalfi Vows was a destination wedding filmed over three days on the Amalfi Coast, Italy. The couple — a Melbourne architect and a Neapolitan chef — wanted a film that captured the scale of the location and the intimacy of their ceremony without feeling like a travel commercial. We brought a two-camera team and a licensed drone operator to deliver a complete cinematic package.
The Challenge
Destination wedding films often sacrifice intimacy for spectacle. The couple wanted both — the sweeping coastline and the quiet moments between two people. The challenge was to balance epic and tender without feeling disjointed.
Our Solution
We structured the film in three movements: arrival and anticipation, the ceremony as its centrepiece, and the celebration as an epilogue. We chose a warm, filmic colour grade that referenced Italian cinema of the 1970s without being retro. Sound design layered ambient location audio beneath a bespoke music selection to create a sensory experience that holds beyond the first watch.
The Outcome
The couple shared their film privately, but it was later featured (with permission) in two international wedding publications. It remains one of our most-requested reference films in client conversations.
